Avis Budget Group Branch Manager in Edmonton, Alberta

Job Summary:

We are currently searching for a Branch Manager to work at our Edmonton Canada location. This exciting position contributes to the success of our company by effectively managing the daily operations to ensure maximization of fleet utilization, revenue per unit, and customer satisfaction of a single location. A Branch Manager is accountable for financial growth of a location, with overall P&L responsibility and sales functions to acquire new accounts, manage outbound calls for prospective commercial accounts and service/grow existing accounts thereby generating revenue into local market locations. Ensure all fleet and cash asset control procedures are followed. As a manager you will supervise, train, develop, motivate and evaluate the performance of staff.

Responsibilities and essential job functions but are not limited to:

  • Manages all activities and personnel at one or more local market corporate locations related to:

  • the servicing of customers at the rental counter in arranging for the rental of vehicles according to established procedures and current rate and discount policies.

  • the selling of incremental products to customers. Ensures staff is properly trained, motivated and coached relative to each product offered and the sales process.

  • the cleaning and preparation of returned vehicles for the next rental to ensure compliance with established quality assurance standards; monitor productivity

  • Gathers data on sales, financial and operational performance, local market and competition, and summarizes findings as required to ensure management is advised of special issues, problem areas and resolutions.

  • Manages business development and promotes the Brand in the local and consistently provides strong customer service and taking actions that lead to repeat business and Brand loyalty.

  • Identifies and resolves customer complaints and work with appropriate location staff to ensure that problems do not re-occur. Document and investigate complaints from dissatisfied customers and take appropriate corrective action. Ensures all Quality Assurance standards are maintained.

  • Hires, supervises, trains, develops, motivates and evaluates the performance of staff. Implements HR department policies in the area of discipline, discharge, motivation and performance in a consistent and fair manner, referring to the appropriate HR manuals to ensure adherence. Establishes, communicates, monitors and updates objectives for staff consistent with the Company goals and objectives.

  • Performs other duties and special assignments as required.

Required Experience:

  • Associate / Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent in education, experience or training).

  • Two or more years operations, sales, customer service with supervisory experience.

  • Experience in vehicle rental services preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Requirements of the successful candidate will posses the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong communication (both written and oral) and sales skills. Ability to interact with both internal and external customers at all levels. Ability to manage and motivate staff in a team environment.

  • Creative problem solving and strong decision making skills.

  • Self-starter and resourcefulness, motivation, strong business acumen and the ability to self-manage.

  • General business knowledge to successfully operate a local market location(s).

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail to track all appropriate operational measures and analyze operational performance results.

  • Ability to build loyalty with both internal and external customers.

  • Background in retail and or fleet reservation related experience a plus.

  • Position requires strong time-management and multitasking skills and capable of determining priorities in a fast paced, changing environment.

  • Proficient computer skills including Excel spreadsheet knowledge.

  • Demonstrated sales ability.

  • Ability to influence others to increase performance levels. Training experience is a plus.

  • Strong team-building skills and ability to motivate team to continuously improve performance.
