Avis Budget Group Human Resources Generalist in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Avis Budget Group is searching for a Human Resources Business Partner to meet the organization’s business objectives while supporting the HR Manager and functional leaders as it relates to policy and procedure adherence, legal compliance, employee engagement activities, employee relations, and other HR initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Works closely with HR Manager/Generalist team to execute HR initiatives such as performance management, succession and talent planning, onboarding, terminations, employee surveys, and employee wellness.
Lead the recruiting process, including posting positions in eArcu, pre-screening candidates, and scheduling interviews, and providing feedback to all internal candidates who were not selected for a position.
Works closely with management and employees to drive employee engagement, improve work relationships, and build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Assists with identifying and resolving employee relations issues including performance, attendance, integrity hotline claims, and code of conduct violations in conjunction with HR Manager.
Assists in the coordination of on-site programs/activities, corporate events and philanthropic activities.
Manages employee leaves of absence and worker’s compensation claims.
Ensures employee adherence to Company policy and applicable employment law.
Conducts new hire orientation for the organization’s Virginia Beach based employees.
Strategic partner providing direction for the Virginia Beach Shared Services Center in the area of strategic HR planning and operations. Partner with Managers to provide a broad range of HR consultation, solutions and services.
Trusted HR advisor coaching Managers and associates on their effectiveness and performance. Effectively use influence and negotiation strategies to secure support from stakeholders for support of key initiatives.
Assists with ad hoc HR projects and initiatives, as necessary.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
5 years Human Resources experience required.
2-5 years of recruiting experience required.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Delivering high quality, efficient administration for all HR transactions.
Strong ability to multi task, in a fast paced working environment.
Demonstrated ability to think out-of-the box and be a problem solver.
Customer focused support to employees for HR processes and information.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to lead by example and follow all legal guidelines.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Experience with confidential matters and business decisions.
Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
Experience with HRIS, Workday a plus.
