Staff Accoutant II
Avis Budget Group is searching for a Staff Accountant II to join our Fleet Accounting Department in Virginia Beach, VA. This position contributes to the company's success by being responsible for handling the accounting and analysis for Avis Budget Group. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-- See disclaimer below for further information. The essential duties and responsibilities as well as knowledge, skills and abilities include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare journal entries and analyze P&L and Balance Sheet using Oracle, Essbase and Hyperion Financial Management.
Directly participate in the monthly close process of multiple Avis Budget Group entities by preparing accruals and adjusting journal entries; performing analysis and research; and resolving issues independently and accurately.
Multiple month end reports used within the Fleet Accounting Department.
In-service date audits.
Execute and review fleet statistics provided to Treasury department.
Perform depreciation analysis on all entities in MVS system to identify potential existing problems (Adhoc/predefined).
Depreciation rate validation and analysis. (Use Code Validation to Fleet Admin and Interaction).
Damage and Mileage Reconciliations
Confirm/validate, inventory, sales, purchases, I-records for multiple entities.
Subsequent testing of purchases and sales for multiple entities.
Excess mileage penalty preparation and work with field on various issues.
Tier reporting, wholesale reporting, Active/Sold buyback reporting, Rejects and Salvage, Lease Reporting etc.
Assist/Develop/Execute BRIO and Easytrive queries.
Numerous Adhoc requests from various levels of management.
Canada ZipCar Transfer Charges
Works under minimal management and leads lower level accountants to prepare, research, and summarize more complex financial data. This position is required to interpret and analyze business results.
VI and PR Aging
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
CPA or parts passed preferred
3-5 years progressive experience in general accounting
Experience working in a corporate environment preferred
Experience within a car rental or travel related industry a plus
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
Self motivated and able to contribute individually as well as part of a team
Solid PC skills including MS Office (particularly Excel) to include vlookups, pivot tables, macro’s, etc.
Ability to maintain a high level of performance in a rapidly changing environment
