Direct to Dealer Sales Representative

The direct to dealer sales representative is a key member of the Sales Fleet team, responsible for selling Avis Budget Group cars directly to our Dealer network. This seller will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with dealers, being the main point of contact to sell cars on-demand.

The sales representative will be accountable for vehicles sold as measured against specific volume targets, ensuring optimal prices for vehicles sold, and also by building an effective relationship with current and new dealers within an assigned territory. The successful representative will generate sustainable growth by consultative interaction with the dealer network, promoting a solid understanding of our fleet and the advantages offered by Avis Budget Group.

The role reports to the Director, Direct to Dealer Car Sales and works with Supply Chain, Fleet Administration, and Operations to support our sales.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Sell cars to automotive dealers by cultivating and maintaining new dealer sales leads and relationships within a specified territory.

  • Negotiate the organization’s sales pricing within specified guidelines and contract terms with customers.

  • Conduct relevant administrative work associated with closing sales.

  • Develop expertise in ABG fleet and the used car market.

  • Serve as the resident expert about all things related to the car sales market in you assigned territory

  • Coordinate activities with and provides updates to management.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Business to Business Sales

  • 2 years plus experience in automobile sales preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Goal oriented, professional, dependable, and inspired by building a book of business to manage.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of outside sales processes.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a focus on Excel.

  • Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams.

  • Experience with SalesForce.com or similar database strongly encouraged.

  • Ability to solve problems quickly and overcome obstacles.
