Human Resources Generalist
The Human Resources Representative will provide tactical and strategic support to the Corporate Americas and Corporate Global teams at Avis Budget Group’s World Headquarters located in Parsippany, NJ. This role provides support and guidance for policy and procedure adherence, legal compliance, training and development initiatives, employee relations, performance management and other HR and business initiatives. This role also partners with various HR Specialist functions as well as other corporate subject matter experts (i.e. Legal, Payroll, etc.) to ensure day-to-day HR issues are handled timely and efficiently. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Works closely with Headquarters HRBPs to execute HR initiatives such as performance management, succession and talent planning, annual merit and bonus evaluation, onboarding, terminations, employee surveys, wellness and engagement.
Serves as the key contact for daily policy and procedure questions regarding HR system, benefits, payroll, paid time off, leaves of absence, and talent acquisition.
Identifying and resolving employee relations issues including performance, attendance, integrity hotline claims, and code of conduct violations in conjunction with Manager.
Serves as liaison with Centers of Excellence/HR Specialist functions to administratively update and maintain accurate employment data.
Manages employee leaves of absence and worker’s compensation claims.
Ensures employee adherence to Company policy and applicable employment law.
Provides leadership to Managers for new hire onboarding for the Parsippany-based employees, interns, and field based HQ employees.
Assists with ad hoc HR projects and initiatives, as necessary.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field.
3 years Human Resources experience required.
Human Resources Generalist experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Strong ability to multi task, in a fast paced working environment.
Proven ability to interface with all levels of management necessary.
Ability to work in a matrixed organizational structure.
Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
Previous experience to HR systems preferredkris (Workday, eArcu, ADP, E-Verify)
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to lead by example and follow all legal guidelines.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Must exercise extreme sense of confidentiality and sense of urgency.
