Avis Budget Group Innovation Strategy Analyst in Parsippany, New Jersey
Avis Budget Group is searching for a Financial Analyst to join our Innovation team based in Parsippany, NJ. This position contributes to the organization's success by analyzing key performance indicators and business trends in order to forecast results and recommend actions to improve those results. The Analyst role will be heavily focused on liaising with internal business partners throughout the organization with specific focus on strategic initiatives around innovation. The Analyst will be expected to analyze monthly operating and financial results for key projects and undertake various ad hoc analysis projects.
A key component of this role will be gathering data and analyzing strategic projects, specifically with regard to return on investment (ROI) and on-going project benefits tracking. This position will also be responsible for helping to design and maintain new measurement methodologies for transformational business models and new products. Essential duties and responsibilities, shown below, will vary accordingly based on assignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the monthly close process, which includes preparing journal entries, tracking vendor invoices and expense accruals and reclassifications.
Analyze and forecast operating expense and capital expenditures.
Support the development of our annual business plan and monthly financial forecast.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis requests of the innovation team and business partners in support of critical business decisions, analysis will include profitability and ROI analysis.
Perform business analysis for potential new products and business models and understand the impact to the overall business.
Assist in the production and review of the annual operating budget and forecast. Partner with the finance organization to execute accrual and forecast submissions in a timely fashion.
Gathers data and helps perform analysis for strategic projects, return on investment (ROI) analyses, competitive analyses, and new business model development.
Participates in strategic projects by helping to design new business models and measurement methodologies, in addition to tracking and reporting results.
This position does not have formal supervision responsibilities. As position develops, additional staff may be added resulting in supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications (may vary by level)
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
Professional working experience in accounting and/or finance of 1 to 4 years preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of financial statements, calculations and reporting.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and particularly adept in Microsoft Excel.
Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Strong project management, time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Oracle, Essbase and Enterprise Data Warehouse desirable.
Minimal travel required.
