Avis Budget Group Project Manager - Fleet Remarketing in Parsippany, New Jersey

Job Summary

The Project Manager, reporting to the VP of Fleet Remarketing, is responsible for the management and coordination of key client projects through the office of the VP of Fleet Remarketing and ensuring delivery of all projects on time, within budget and within scope. Partners with North American Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Customer Led Experience, Performance Excellence and IT to develop plans and programs focused on operational and service and sales excellence and the respective enablement needed to achieve the company’s financial and strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage division wide projects and cross-functional strategic initiatives

  • Assists in the management of all phases of the project life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation.

  • Participates in and may coordinate project related activities with other functional groups or external vendors

  • Manages overall quality of the product from both an internal (QA) and external (customer support & satisfaction) point of view.

  • Establish, administer and improve project management practices and processes for North American field organization.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Works on moderate to complex customer experience design projects and is responsible for tracking key project milestones, escalating issues, and adjusting project plans to accurately reflect the project’s progress

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques

  • Report and escalate to management as needed

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Foster strong and collaborative relations with internal and external stakeholders

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Required Experience

  • BA, MBA desired

  • Minimum five years project management or business consulting experience working in complex business environments

  • PMP certification

  • Green belt or higher Six Sigma Certification a plus but not required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with MS Office, MS Project

  • Demonstrates the ability to influence cross functional teams Strong project management, quality improvement and organizational skills

  • Experience in change management

  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and decision making sessions, present information and respond to questions from groups of staff managers, senior leadership and stakeholders

  • Superior conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to succinctly interpret data and strategic frameworks for senior leadership

  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities
