Job Summary

Avis Budget Group, LLC, is searching for a Loss Prevention Intern to join our team based in Virginia Beach. The Loss Prevention Intern is responsible for the coordination and communication of impounded vehicles across ABG Division. This position will be responsible for contacting Impound Yards, Negotiating Vehicle Charges, Coordinating Field and Security Personnel to retrieve vehicle where necessary or with our third party provider Allstate. Also responsible for obtaining and providing necessary documents for the expedition of vehicle recovery from impound lots. Update Impound Database for tracking and reporting, working exception reports and billing contracts appropriately before closing out to ensure all costs are recovered and those which need to be processed via ABG Claims department are appropriately managed. This position will be utilized cross functionally within Field Administration as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordination of vehicle recovery from Impound lots including negotiation of costs, compilation of documents required by municipality for vehicle retrieval and communication with security/field or third party vendor.

  • Fulfilling database with imperative information related to vehicle recovery and cost recovery via charging customer as provided by contractual agreements. Documenting database related to all issues related to police and legal holds.

  • Working Exception reports to ensure vehicles are returned to appropriate ABG M&D location in order to ensure vehicle safety checks are completed prior to return to ready line. As well as any other damage related costs associated with the impound.

  • Provide weekly and monthly metric reports by area for field compliance with process. These metrics will include cost recovery, timing recovery and compliance issues.

  • Cross functional work within Field Administration departments including Registration, Titles and Deletions and all Loss Prevention.

Required Experience

  • High school education or equivalent

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in customer service and maintenance knowledge

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal travel is required.
